LVP, Tile or Hardwood: The Floors We Put Down

Crimson Maple Construction puts down all three: luxury vinyl plank, tile and hardwood. Flooring and tile are the two jobs Devin Ouellette says pay best right now, and he prices a floor after he has seen the room.

Luxury vinyl plank

A July 2026 photo of ours shows luxury vinyl plank going down across a room, with boxes of planks and cut offcuts on the floor.

Tile

Our tile photos are bathrooms and small rooms: a marble-look floor going down with yellow leveling clips at every joint (August 2026), a large-format marble-look bathroom floor beside a new grey tub surround (September 2026), and a dark slate-look floor (July 2026).

Hardwood, and what is under it

On the Newton job, the one the owners talk about most, five old subfloors came up before new hardwood went down. A September 2026 post of ours pairs two photos: new plywood subfloor going down over the joists, and a room finished in light grey plank.
